Ex-Stryper lead-man Michael Sweet released his debut album in 1994. However, unlike his previous band, Sweet played a brand of music closer to Blue Tears or Journey. I, like many other reviewers, was literally blown away when I heard this album. I asked myself over and over, how did I not buy this album sooner? The biggest treat of this album for me was, the inclusion of former Blue Tears front-man Gregg Fulkerson, who helped write and produce a lot of the record. It's also no surprise that most of the better tracks are all assists from Fulkerson(the rest are no slaubs either though). This record almost has a Blue Tears with Michael Sweet on vocals vibe to it, which suited me just fine. The album is really just amazing the entire way through, the melodies, harmonies and catchiness of the songs are incredible for an album released during the height of the grunge explosion in the mid-90's. I really loved the tracks "I Think You Hear Me Knockin'," "All This And Heaven Too," "Ain't No Safe Way" and the ballad "Forever Yours."Like Justin Gaines said before me, "I went in expecting nothing, but man, was this record hard to not like." Very true my friend. I really thought this album would rake me across the coals, but it really caught my ear and wouldn't let go.
