Our dog loves Greenies Pill Pockets. She thinks she is getting a special treat, not realizing there is a pill stuck in the middle. This is a great way to get her to take her medicine. The Pill Pocket is very easy to slip the pill into the hole then cover up the pill so it's completely covered.I've tried hiding her pill in a bite of cheese or other foods, but she is not fooled and eats the food and spits out the pill. With the Greenies, she eats the whole thing, pill and all.Got these for my small dog as he will not take a pill on his own (small pill too). You can easily tear these in half. A little trick you might want to do is take a slightly larger piece, tear off a smaller one and give it to the dog first, then place the pill inside and fold it into a ball and then give it. Easier for the dog to swallow the second one. These are great. My dog swallows his pills no problem. He has to take 4 pills a day and with my arthritic hands it was becoming really hard to just push them in. They’d dissolve and the blue ones would stain me, my carpet etc. anyway, I pop the pill in here and whammo it’s magic how fast he swallow that. This value pack is something I haven’t seen in stores and very happy to find here!So many of my dogs loved these. They never knew they were taking medicine! Only one of my 6 dogs stopped eating it. She did for years. It may be because she is now almost 16. And just fussy.I have a miniature poodle who like most dogs, does not like to be medicated. These are a perfect solution. I usually cut the pill in 2, and use a portion of a pocket to wrap around the small morsel to form a little ball that he can eat in one bite. The important thing is that he likes the way they taste, so medicating him has been really easy.I saw quite a few complaints in the reviews, but for me these things are a godsend. My dog was put on a trial medication for arthritis and my first thought was how miserable throwing it down her throat was going to be. In the past she found the pills in everything I tried, so forcing it down was the only option. With these, she took them no problem. They are the consistency of raw cookie dough, and are completely moldable. I only needed half of a pill pocket per pill, so 1 pocket was plenty to cover her two pills. Just stuff the pill in and shape the pill pocket around it, and down the hatch! She loves them! I saw some complaints about the smell, but from someone who is sensitive to smells I can tell you that it doesn’t bother me it all. I also saw some people mention it upsetting their dog’s stomach…my girl has the most sensitive stomach and was unbothered by them. Great product! Our dogs eat these with pills in them. They never spit out the pills, and are always very excited to eat these. I'm not sure what magic they use in these to stop dogs from spitting out the pills, but it works. This product is amazing. It simplifies giving medicines to dogs as they think they are getting treats, so they swallow it immediately. I got the chicken flavor.Nice idea but very disappointed. And very expensive - almost £12 for 30 pockets – one pill per pocket. Our spaniel can spot a pill in any tempting treat – he eats the treat & spits out the pill.Maybe these pockets were the answer – but no.They clearly had the smell to tempt his very keen nose and he took it readily. But they are made from a dry mix which quickly separates in your fingers or when chewed. In our case the enclosed pill was spotted almost instantly and rejected.Probably fine for a greedy dog which wolfs down its food without thinking – but not for a smart dog.Back to the Victoria Sponge & Blackcurrent Jam disguise!!These are good, worked for tablets. Although the tablets were too big so had to break the tablets down then break the pill pocket down. Worked for our fussy dog. Sometimes had issues but worked. However, since found a DIY peanut butter recipe for this sorta thing. If your dog likes peanut butter then I would definitely say make your own & don’t pay like £13+ for these. I know these ones are chicken flavoured. But if you want to make your own Peanut Butter ones Google it, it’s SUPER EASY & cheap, bonus!!Recipe: 2tbsp Flour, 1tbsp Milk & 1tbsp Canine Friendly Peanut ButterMethod: Mix & knead like dough until you get the right texture. Roll accordingly. DoneVery pricey but I've found it unnecessary to use one pill pocket per pill/capsule as it's very easy to pull one apart and mould it around any sized pill/capsule therefore making this product go further, saving you money. It most definitely eliminates pill rejection and helps the medicine go down without fuss. My dog actually wags his tail during medicine time which makes it a pleasant experience for both of us.These WORK. We have to give a daily capsule to a very food picky dog. He almost always eagerly takes the pill enclosed in a pill pocket. A pill pocket alone can also get him to start eating his food (dropped onto his food in the bowl), which makes me very relieved. He also doesn't tolerate a lot of messing around with him, so the pill administration via pill pockets reduces his irritation and annoyance (and possible aggression) when pilling. The product itself is amazing and my dog loves them and we have no issues for him to take tablets. As for favour I can’t really comment on that as I’ve never tried them. They would be very easy to use if not for the below. My issue is with Amazon as everything they send these packs in the smallest package possible which compacts them. We then have to pull bits out and reform the mixture.
