I highly recommend this product. My dog takes medication everyday. The med fits perfect inside. He wait every morning for his treat! He loves them!We love Fresh Pill pockets. They are easy to wrap pills in and my dog greedily gobbles them down. The problem is, in my subscription for this product, I have not received FRESH pill pockets in over 6 months. The product is dry and crumbles when I try to pinch the pills in. I know it is not overall because I went to a pet store to purchase them and see if it was greenies in general. The ones I bought in the store were fresh and perfect. Something is happening with the bulk subscription, maybe it’s storage temps or something, but they are not the quality I used to love. The expiration date is still good too, so they aren’t expired. Dry and crumbling and tbe dog won’t eat them.My dogs have always loved the Greenies Peanut Butter Pill Pockets. The taste (to them) and the freshness (to me) is always great. HOWEVER, Greenies recently changed their outside package label. While this is really not important to me, I think they also changed the closure at the top of the package. I never had a problem with the old packaging, but with this new one, about every other package has a problem with the plastic stripping on one side coming away from the packaging so that the plastic stripping on the opposite side has nothing to "stick" to. I now use a clothes pin to keep the package closed. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed, especially since the price of this product continually goes up. If you manage to get it for the same price as the last time you ordered, maybe 3-months prior, consider yourself lucky. I order every other month on Subscribe & Save to get the best price, and I still pay more than I think this product is worth. With that said, my dogs will take their medication if it's wrapped in a pill pocket, so I guess I'm stuck for now, but I may try making my own. Also, I don't like that of the 15 ingredients used to make these pill pockets, peanut butter is #5 and corn syrup is #6! These are supposed to be Peanut Butter pill pockets, and dogs are not supposed to have sweets. These work well to both administer medications and as treats. The capsule size are large, we use these to give medications (if the medication is appropriate to give with food and is appropriate to wrap in food material- always check with your veterinarian!). I also use them during appointments as a treat option- they mash into a paper bowl or on the examination table to give dogs something to do and make them happier during exams and vaccinations. The peanut butter flavor is generally appreciated but I actually find the stinky duck flavor the be the #1 choice. These don't have a strong odor and barely smell like peanut butter but they're a good option to carry. They should not be fed in excess as they are not balanced and there have been several reports of sodium and other electrolyte disturbances causing sickness in animals that get a lot or get into and eat a whole bag (not just of these- of many treats/chews/etc), so if this happens to your pet, contact your veterinarian right away for guidance even if your pet seems OK at first (you may also use the pet poison hotline for help from a veterinarian toxicologist- there is usually a fee, but if your vet calls them they are charged (and usually pass it along to you)These pill pockets are the best thing since sliced bread! If you have a dog who takes pills or capsules every day then these are seriously a godsend. I've got a pitsky who takes apoquel every day for allergies and I've been fighting with her for a year on taking the pill. Cheese, hot dogs, wet food, soft treats, bread.... she ends up trying to chew it and spits it all out eventually. With these pill pockets they must taste so good that she just swallows it whole. Luckily she is pretty big and hasn't choked on it and I hope she never does.I've also got a lab/mastiff who is on three different pills right now for a bad UTI from her holding her pee for three days while we were moving. Since she's 130 pounds she has to take 11 pills twice a day. The peanut butter pill pockets work wonderfully for her too.Even our little dogs like them. We have to break one up to feed it to them when the big girls are getting their pills. They smell and feel exactly like peanut butter fudge. If I didn't know what they were I probably would have thought it was peanut butter fudge lolI do wish they were a little cheaper though. Even with combining some of my mastiffs pills into one she still requires 8 pockets twice a day. I can't even go two whole days with the big girls and all their pillsGreenies is smart though.... they know desperate people will pay a ridiculous price to make it easier for their pups to take their meds. I just wish they didn't extort us like that!Well since I don’t eat them I couldn’t tell you about the flavor. And really I haven’t gotten into the quality of the ingredients, so for now I’m just going to have to trust that your not giving my Dog a bunch of Crap ingredients.I do know my dogs love these as far as treats go. As far as the targeted intention not so much. Over the last fifteen years every single dog I’ve ever tried to give medication to using this system (approx 5 dogs) has FAILED MISERABLY. Everyone of them every single time manipulate the pill (med) right out of there. So I have never found them to serve the purpuse of what there meant for. And the last box I got was so incredibly STAIL they were NASTY!My dog seems to like the flavor but I have a difficult time getting them to hold the shape in order to feed it to her.I run a rescue and these are very convenient when you have multiple dogs who are taking pills. I split them in 4, roll them up in little balls and put them in a mason jar for use. The trick is to use as little as possible and then rapidly offer them 2 more pill pockets that don't have pills in them right after giving the one that does, so they feel rushed to gobble the first one down so they can get the 2nd and 3rd. Works everytime.Ahora se comen sus medicinas sin problema alguno, son felices y se emocionan al oler el empaque. SÚPER SÚPER recomendable.Greenies Pill Pockets are not readily available in Spain. My dog takes anti seizure medications 4 times per day. Pill Pockets makes this a much easier task! Since I have to watch my dog's sodium intake, I found that the Greenies Peanut Butter Dog pill pockts have much less sodium than the chicken. Fortunately I am able to order the pill pockets via Amazon.de.
