Origen, Original dogfood smells good enough for a human to eat. I thought I was doing all the right things by buying this brand and feeding it to my dogs until I went to the veterinarian. My one dog who never had any heart problems now has a slight heart murmur. She asked me right away what type of food that I feed my dog. And I told her it was Origen. I just started feeding them that maybe a year ago. She asked if it was grain free and I told her yes. She said grain free is not good for dogs because it has legumes in place of the grain which has been known to cause heart problems. Apparently, legumes are not good to feed to your dog. She is not the only veterinarian that has told me this. The first one that told me that same thing I thought he was full of bull. Now, I had to remove my dog off this Origen diet and see if his murmur improves or goes away. Dog food makers really should consult with veterinarians to see if what they are putting in the food is actually safe for them before putting it out on the market. I was willing to pay the extra price because I thought the quality was good but found out that it was not good for my dog.
