Anyone who knows this record needs no introduction. I have taken basic information from this disc about the personnel so that new fans looking for exceptional blues records from the era (1969) can enjoy. John O'Leary played harmonica with the Savoy Brown Blues Band before Shakedown was recorded. Keith Tillman plays bass and was a founding member of the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation and played with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers briefly, and Dick Heckstall-Smith played tenor and soprano saxes with so many great people - Alexis Korner's Blues, Inc., Graham Bond Organization, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Colosseum the most familiar names. Stuart Cowell was a highly regarded session guitarist in blues circles, Sam Crozier was a multi-instrumentalist, and a well known bluesman, Annette Brox is the highly talented extraordinary vocalist and wife of Victor Brox of the Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation, and Junior Dunn was a popular drummer and the leader of his own blues quartet. If you are a fan of the late 1960's blues scene that was everywhere throughout the United Kingdom and Europe then this comes highly recommended. It is as exciting now as it was when I first heard it way back when. This is a one of a kind blues summit which smokes and is not to be missed. The remastering is mind boggling, very exciting sound. Yes, it took me nine years to catch up with this 2003 CD release. Thank you and Bless you Sunrise Records! If you like the two Tramp records on Spark Records you will love this too.
